Microsoft has always been committed to education and supporting the important work of Libraries throughout the world. From schools to higher education, public libraries and national libraries, We are invested in helping them further their missions by using technology.

We’ll hear from speakers globally who are leveraging technology to increase access to libraries, such as University of Technology, Sydney Librarian Michael Gonzalez along with Dr. Helen Charman, Director Learning and National Programmes at the Victoria and Albert Museum, UK. Michael Gonzalez is an advocate of “digital equivalence” and how to make the library as accessible digitally as it is physically. Helen Charman has made a major pivot at the Victoria and Albert Museum, UK in delivering educational programming beyond the walls of the Museum and substantially increased accessibility and impact.

From Microsoft, we’ll hear from Microsoft Librarian, Kimberly Engelkes and Microsoft Philanthropies Greg Bianchi. Kimberly will speak to the work that the Microsoft corporate library is focused on serving a global community of 250,000 Microsoft staff in democratizing access, and Greg Bianchi will speak to the many Microsoft Philanthropy initiatives in addressing the digital divide and skills development.

We’ll also hear from Julio Campa at Miami-Dade Public Library System and Ken Ryals from King County Library System Foundation, WA, USA. Miami Dade Public Library has done some innovative work on analytics and insights which drives decision making in their organization and the impact it’s had on their library. Ken Ryals will speak to the important learnings and work they’ve done with digital fundraising.

We are seeing digital transformation unfold real-time and this is a tremendous opportunity for us to discuss what is happening and how, together, we can move forward. These segments are designed to unlock expertise from around the world and come together with a shared agenda.
